Collaboration Corner
Teachers have joined up to create writing across the curriculum projects to be displayed in the library this year. Exemplary examples of student work will be awarded commendations and featured during Parent/Teacher conference night.

Technology Galore
Encourage students to try out our ebook selections. Now they can choose whether they want to check out the hard copies or download their selections onto electronic devices to read on the go. Also, be sure to check out the technology for teacher checkout. Beginning in August we will have weekly checkouts for Chromecarts and iPad stations.

Come check out our new classroom-sets of novels. Novels have been aligned with state standards and county curriculum. You may sign them out for six-weeks periods. Classroom sets contain 30 novels each and an accompanying teacher's edition. Teachers' Book Club
You voted and the results are in. Teachers' Book Club will begin in August with the novel The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.
Meetings will be held every Tuesday at 4P.M. beginning on August 30. Red Team teachers are in charge of refreshments at the first meeting. Happy reading. Reading Buddies
Four Spring Valley Elementary School and Spring Valley Middle School teachers have teamed up to start a reading buddies program in the fall. Eighth graders from Mrs. Dishner's and Mrs. Lawson's classes will be partnering with Mrs. Myers' and Mr. Briscoe's classes in second grade. Students will select books to read with their reading buddies each final Friday of the month beginning in August. If you would like to pair up with a teacher from SVES, contact me for more information on this wonderfully beneficial program.
